How to Fill Out a TWC Work Search Log

April 3, 2026

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) can ask you to provide a work search log at any time while you receive unemployment benefits. Your goal is to record each activity in a way that is easy to verify. Use this checklist for every entry: 1. Date of activity 2. Employer or organization name 3. Contact method (online application, email, phone call, job fair, interview) 4. Job title or role sought 5. Outcome or next step Strong log entries include enough detail for an outside reviewer to understand what you did without follow-up questions. For example, "Applied to Customer Support Specialist at ABC Logistics through company careers page" is stronger than "Applied online." If you attend a workforce event, include the event name, location, and what action you took (resume review, recruiter conversation, workshop attendance). Keep copies of confirmation emails, screenshots, or notes in case TWC requests evidence. This article is educational and not legal advice. For official requirements, confirm directly with TWC guidance for your claim.
